1992
Born in Burkina Faso
Annick Thiombiano was born in June 1992 in Burkina Faso.
1992-1999
Early Childhood
She was raised by her mother, a student at the time, and often sent to the village where her grandparents - the village king and queen immersed her in what she now calls the traditional existence model.
2011
AIESEC Leadership
She joined AIESEC, a global youth leadership platform, and quickly rose to become president of AIESEC at Université de Ouagadougou, where she led community projects aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
2014
Gold Mining Experience
She worked at a two-gold mining companies in Burkina Faso, gaining hands-on experience with industrial systems and large-scale operations.
2014
Voice Africa's Future Champion
She was selected as a Voice Africa’s Future Champion and traveled to the United Nations Headquarters in New York to represent African youth in shaping the 2015 Sustainable Development Goals.
2015
Women Deliver Young Leader
She was selected as one of the 200 Young Leaders in the world by Women Deliver, completed a two-semester global program on sexual and reproductive health and rights, and spoke at international panels across Africa, Europe, and the U.S., amplifying youth-led African solutions.

Bachelor's Degree
She earned her Bachelor in Business Administration from the Graduate School of Management in Burkina Faso, while also studying online with the Association of Business Executives (ABE), a London-based institution focused on global business education.
2016
Make Them Strong Project
She founded the Make Them Strong Project to address the high rate of girls’ school dropouts caused by unplanned pregnancies and to combat rising HIV infections in Boucle du Mouhoun, a region in Burkina Faso.
Through peer education, group discussions, dance, and mobile HIV testing, the project reached and impacted over 10,000 young people.
Without raising money, Annick and her team mobilized vital resources - including food, paper, transportation, and safe housing for interns and volunteers - to bring the project to life.
2018
Moved to the United States
She moved to the United States to experience a new way of life, deepen her learning, and expand her global perspective
2019
Fashion Model Career
She launched Trading with Africa, a startup that simplifies and accelerates trade between West Africa and the rest of the world - bridging supply, systems, and strategy.

She became a fashion model in New York City.
